The basis for this is the development of the Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) based on 5G into a communication system that ensures energy-efficient, robust and future-proof operation through a hybrid network architecture and the seamless integration of public and private mobile networks. Such a hybrid and adaptive railroad communication system enables railroad applications to take advantage of the multitude of available communication carriers without being dependent on a specific radio access technology.
