“Productive Teaming” at the 60th Ilmenau Scientific Colloquium 2023

The 60th Ilmenau Scientific Colloquium (ISC) is just around the corner and promises to be another successful event this year. The renowned conference will take place from September 4 to 8 on the campus of Ilmenau University of Technology and brings together scientists from all over the world. Organized by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the colloquium covers the breadth and depth of modern engineering and the increasing integration of other disciplines.

Scientists network in Ilmenau to jointly gain new insights and develop innovative solutions for the challenges of today and tomorrow.

A particular highlight of the event will be the presentations in Session 5: “Productive Teaming – Human-machine collaboration in the production environment” , on which numerous publications have been submitted by scientists from Chemnitz University of Technology, Ilmenau University of Technology and OVGU Magdeburg and which originate from the CHIM research and innovation network. Productive Teaming” is primarily about finding out what contribution highly complex, intelligent, adaptable and autonomous cyber-technical systems can make to overcoming future challenges in the field of production. Interesting sessions, poster sessions and elevator pitches are also on the agenda on 7 September between 9:00 and 16:00. Among other things, challenges with regard to trust and safety in teamwork will be discussed. An AI-driven design process as the basis for “teaming” in design drafting and collaborative technologies for virtual teamwork are also topics that will be addressed and discussed together with international experts.

In addition to these discussions, the ISC also offers space for exchange between industry and academic institutions. The sessions on “Productive Teaming” offer an exciting platform for scientific discourse on Industry 5.0, particularly with regard to the manufacturing industry. In this way, CHIM scientists contribute to the further development of research strategies and technology fields for the production systems of the future.
